In Indian television, the lead actress is the mainstay of the show. No one owns this tag better than Sriti Jha as Pragya in Kumkum Bhagya and Shraddha Arya as Preeta in Kundali Bhagya. While Pragya and Preeta might be step-sisters, they have quite a lot in common. They are both strong and independent women who will stand for the truth even if it affects their love life and life in general. They both are also in very tough marriages. In Kumkum Bhagya, Abhi and Pragya separate after their daughter Kiara’s death. Pragya raises one of her twins, Prachi, all by herself. However, she doesn’t let Prachi harbour bad feelings about her father and tells Prachi that he is a good man always.
In Kundali Bhagya, Karan marries Preeta and leaves her on their first night itself. Preeta not only recovers from it but also gets a good job, working as a physiotherapist for the cricket team despite knowing that she will have to face Karan there.
2. Sticking To Their Beliefs
In Kundali Bhagya, Preeta constantly helps Karan when she thinks he is right. She helps him in proving Sherlyn’s pregnancy and even stopping the attack by Monisha. Preeta even helps Mahira, when she hurts herself, despite knowing that Karan and Mahira are about to be engaged.
In Kumkum Bhagya, Pragya stands against Abhi to support Rishi against Priyanka. She even saves Rhea from jail after Rhea tries to run her over with a car. Though Rhea did it purposely, Pragya believes Rhea has learnt from her mistakes and gets her released.
3. Experience In Dealing With Criminals
In Kumkum Bhagya, Pragya first comes face to face with criminals when her daughter Kiara is kidnapped and killed. Since then she has taken down multiple criminals, like gold smugglers in Abhi’s house and terrorists planning to assassinate the the CM at Abhi’s event.
In Kundali Bhagya too, Preeta saves her own mother from kidnappers hired by Sherlyn. She even diffuses a bomb and fires a gun in the process. She then tracks the kidnapper and forces him to reveal the entire truth as well.
